"Are you upset?" I asked. She nodded.
"Meimei take TT's water bottle," she mumbled.
"Yes. But Aunty (little girl's Mommy) is trying to get meimei to return it to you. Meimei is taking a while because she's still learning how to. She's still little. You were like that too when you were Baby TT." I tried explaining to her calmly as I hugged her tight.
Not even sure if that's the right thing to say/do but J nodded and was back to her bubbly self pretty quickly.
We've been hearing the story of how the meimei took her water bottle away ever since. It started off as "Meimei take TT's water bottle away." Then it expanded to "TT no water bottle already."
A few days later, she further expanded it to "TT don't want to drink already. TT give Meimei the water bottle."
I saw the need to praise her for sharing.
"That's so sweet of you. You are such a sweet jiejie (big sister). You're a jiejie already right?" She grinned.
Just a few nights back (I listen to this story at least twice each night...), it was
"Meimei take TT's water bottle away. TT don't want to drink already. TT jiejie already. TT give meimei the water bottle."
"Thank you baby. You're so sweet."

Some nights ago, J took over my spot on my bed and refused to let me lie down at all. I'm already going a little nutty from exhaustion. But for a change, I decided to use my mum's "hahaha" approach - I didn't scold nor yell, but spoke in the "Eh...? It's funny" tone. J speaks in that tone when she tried to be funny so I imitated her. Pretty sure she'll get that.
"TT shared your bottle with meimei. So why don't we share the bed? Okay? No... Wait. This is my bed. I shared it with you and TT doesn't allow mama to lie down?" She laughed. And I got to sleep on my bed.

Tonight, I got kicked away from my spot again. "Mama, sit up. Mama cannot lie down."
"But mama is very tired."
"Share. Mama sleep. TT share."
"Yes, mama shares my bed with you. ;)"
She snuggled over, "Thank YOU, mama. You so sweet."
Okay lah, baby.
You so sweet too.
