Um. Right...
I looked back at my previous blog and I really do miss those times where I wrote about things other than baby. So now that the baby is sleeping, let's talk 'me' for a while.
The husband has been attempting to go minimalist lately.
"It's not only the physical things we are talking about. It's the attitude."
As for the physical items we have in the house, we can only go so far because I have collected so many things over the years. We've already thrown away at least seven bags of old, unwanted and broken stuff though. Don't ask me how and why they were still at my house if they were in such a condition. I'm a hoarder, remember?
I try to do the same for my Pinterest boards, because my goodness, I have close to 800 pins I've liked but yet to sort out. I've gotten a few tips on how to better organise Pinterest boards so this is what I'm plan to do.
1. MANY BOARDS.
I'm going to categorise my boards as clearly as I can.
I now have close to 80 boards which is crazy but better that that having one board that has 123, 4336 pins and I don't even want to look at that board anymore.
So more boards, more "sub-folder" type of boards so that everything is in one place.
I learnt this tip from somewhere but I don't remember where so I can't credit the brilliant lady.
My most active boards are now playroom related.
So I have a "Playroom" board for general ideas and any other pins that can't fit quite nicely into the sub-boards.
I have "Playroom - Read/Write" for pins that are inspiration on the reading or writing corner, "Playroom - Walls" for wall treatment and decor ideas, and a couple more of other sub-boards. It makes my profile look crazy but so much neater within each board.
2. A-B-C.
I used to sort my boards according to what matters to me most. It got messy.
Alphabetical order is the way to go now.
3. LABEL EACH PIN CLEARLY.
Pinterest allows you to search your pins. So, if you have the description of the pin of say, a toy kitchen, it will be easier to locate the pin if you type something like "Toy kitchen. Love the idea of a backsplash." than if the description read "OH MY GOD! I LOVE THIS!"
I have too many of "Exactly." for my pins on quotes and "This is so cute!" for whatever I feel is cute.
I've just re-labelled most of my pins on my board that I collect parenting tips in.
I attempted to categorise the pins within the board by adding who the pin is intended for.
4. PURGE!
Delete whatever is unnecessary or outdated.
I've deleted some of the pins for nursery and some pins I collected because the photos look beautiful.
I won't have time to look at them anyway.
Here's the plan.
4. Delete unwanted pins.
5. Look through likes and pin/ delete accordingly.
6. Check through pins and make sure it's not a broken link.
6 is a little too much, but we try.
I still have a long way to go, but gambatte!
