Pretty good, especially for J.
We've been hanging out at grandma's (because I really do need a pair of helping hands) and J gets to hang out with the little neighbours. She got to go out with a few of my friends on a few occasions, and hence, got to meet some little friends too. The best part for J? She gets to walk on her own. Wonderful experience for her but not too great for momma's back.
Because we have been out of the house so much, and nighttime means storytelling, picking up things around the house, and putting the little one to bed, there is a lack of updates. Updates happen to be very necessary because this is where I come to to reminiscence, or to get details for the photobooks I'm working on.
So, here's a bit of what took place the past two weeks.
J is now starting on chores. We are doing the simple ones like putting the toys back into the toy box, and helping grandma with the clean clothes. She enjoys it so much that when my mum says "Do you want to help popo with the clothes?" J rushes to where she is. Each time she carries a bundle of clothes, her face beams with pride. (Okay, on a couple of ocassions I caught her "oh-well-I'm-taking-in-the-clothes-again" look. That is hilarious.)
We went to SEA Aquarium a couple of days before Halloween with my friend and her little girl. Clearly, I didn't do any research prior to the trip because I was surprised to find it all decked for Halloween. There's even trick-or-treating. The kids had fun collecting their chocolates at different stations and the mothers had fun counting them afterwards. We chose to walk along Sentosa boardwalk to enter Sentosa. It's slowly becoming my favourite place. The little ones held hands and walked together - the moment I've been waiting for. Though it also means that my little girl is growing up.
J was in the stroller when we entered the aquarium and she didn't seem too thrilled. We walked past a section where the fishes were swimming under our feet and I thought I have to let this kid walk on her own. So I did. And it was probably the best decision of the day. She 'ran' around, touched the tanks, "oooh-ed" at the fishes, gave me her sweetest smile, touched the sculptures along the way, and the railings, and gave me sweet smiles again. One happy kid makes one happy momma.
We practised out peek-a-boos.
Went for short walks to the convenience store.
And a short swim yesterday with the neighbours.
Life is good, so you see.
