Are you already a toddler?
You are barely one and the terrible twos seem to have started.
You want to do everything by yourself.
You want to put on your shoes by yourself, your socks too.
You want to return your dirty clothes to where the laundry baskets are (though none of the baskets are yours).
You want to comb your hair.
You feed yourself meats and bread, with your hands of course. But you are venturing to the spoon. When you try, the food ends up on the chair, or floor, or clothes. So far, none has made it into your mouth yet.
You start to open cupboards and drawers and pull the bedroom doors close. Those are heavy!
And boy, are you insistent!
Now that you can walk, you do so like a boss. There's no stopping you.
You're sprouting your molars on the lower gum already and is in a biting frenzy. You bite EVERYTHING!
You go "Na na na NA NA NA NA NA!!!" and "Mam mam mam MAM MAM MAM MAM!!!" and "papapapapapapapa" and "mamamamamamama".
Notice how everything ends up in a crescendo?
You've also tried to hum along to songs, especially Jingle Bells. It's funny to hear you go "da da da".
You know that cats go "(m)eow" and dogs go "wooh (f)" and cows go "moo moo", only you say it as "nnnnnn nnnnn"
Diaper changes are easier for me now because you indicate that you want to poop. By giving that red face and going "ng ng". Usually we get the poo in the potty.
You are getting so cheeky now.
Case in point.
You've also taken a liking to your stuffed toys and enjoy talking to them. Lately, bunny gets dragged around.
This month, you attended your first wedding dinner (your facourite yiyi's) and had your first staycation. I'm so proud of you that you pretty much sat through the
entire banquet. Thankfully we brought the book on kittens along. Oh! Have I told you? You love cats. I think it happened after you saw the kittens at yiyi's neighbour's place.
We are not going to have a huge first birthday celebration. I'm not sure if you would mind. We plan to take you somewhere fun. And since it's 1am now, Mommy should really be sleeping.
I've decorated your playroom a little and I hope you like it. We aren't able to bake you a cake this year but you deserve a little celebration too.
This is the best I can manage at midnight. That's a lot of presents considering we are not having a party. You are blessed and loved, baby. And remember, presents aren't representations of our love for you.
We love you darling!
Smooches and cuddles,
Mommy
Happy birthday to your gal! How time flies! I remembered I started reading your blog before you gave birth!

Thank you Joyce! It does. Can't believe I'm in this for one year already. And thank you for being with me all these while! :)
