"You wait and see."
I think I'm beginning to understand what she means now.
J doesn't stick to her Daddy all the time. She still seems to prefer me, but when Daddy is home, she wants his attention and she wants him to be there with her.
That explains our nightly family hugs and cuddles before bedtime, and lately, the "body-slam-Daddy-before-I-sleep".
J was playing in her newly set up playroom yesterday afternoon with me and she looked so listless. No matter how I tried to coax her, she doesn't seem interested in anything except the toy phone receiver she was holding onto. She refused to enter the playyard. She wasn't keen on playing with the bunny she usually loves. Then Daddy stood at the door and J perked up immediately.
She pulled to stand and walked towards the playyard, then INTO the playyard, turning back to her daddy from time to one as of telling him, "Look, Daddy! New toy!"
"Check this out Daddy!"
I left the two alone in the room to get the diaper bag ready for our mall trip. I could hear that J was having a lot of fun.
That same evening, the husband decided to do the carrying. That look of pride as he put on the carrier, and that look on J when she realises Daddy was the one carrying her and she sees Mummy, are priceless.
I really don't think I mind J being a Daddy's girl. I think he deserves it. Good thing J is very fair and she usually makes sure she doesn't leave anyone out.
