I wrote this post a few days ago but took it down when we went to the doctor's and she said that Lil' J was having a virus.
A visit to the doctor's again yesterday confirms that I should be human teether no more!
But she's been extra clingy these days.
She used to be okay playing on her own in the playpen. And when she felt lonely, all she needed was to know that she's not alone in the house. These couple of days, she cries and stops only when she's being held. She hates to be in cradle position though.
We thought that that's just her growing up. You know, developing those would-be toddler tantrums, or simply whining for attention. So on some days, she gets scolded or we leave her to cry for a while.
This morning, she gave me 4 soiled diapers, and she was behaving strangely. She would bite her gums so tightly that her tiny body shakes. I thought it was fits but know it isn't after she laughs when I say "Don't do that!"
And she gave a grunt so loud that she frightened herself to tears.
I called my mum for advice and she said Lil' J could be teething. I looked up BabyCenter and this is what I got.
Some symptoms of teething
Trying to bite, suck, chew on anything she can get her hands on. Check.
Irritability. Check.
Drooling. Check.
Rubbing her face.
Difficulty sleeping.
Grabbing her ears.
Check. Check. Check.
I feel so guilty about scolding this morning when she kept crying and I thought it was just a temper tantrum. Imagine the discomfort if it really is teething.
Poor baby.
If this is a preview of what teething is like, then I foresee exciting times ahead until all her pearly whites surface.
At times like this, I'm glad I chose to be a SAHM. I want to be the one going through my kid's tough times with her.
