Now that Lil' J is obsessed with pulling herself to stand (and cruise), she prefers to hang out at her playpen most of the time. She doesn't even want to be carried unless she's tired or hungry.
Sometimes, she stands on one end of the playpen to look out of the window.
She looks at the buses and squeals at them occasionally.
Sometimes, she will go to the other end of the playpen where the toys are kept and entertained herself with them.
When I first purchased the playpen, I was glad it comes with this attachment because I can finally keep her toys off the parenting station and the floor.
Now it becomes a spot for Lil' J to practise her fine motor skills.
This is what it looks like each morning.

I left the right compartment empty because that's where I put her pacifier and bibs.
And the other feeding stuff.
It's my 'holding area'.
The compartment in the centre holds all her small plushies and a rattle which I always place at the bottom.
I noticed that Lil' J enjoys tipping the box of diaper cream and oils over while I change/ bath her.
so I decided to do it to her toys too. I placed random toys in the box for her to discover when she was learning to crawl. Now I leave the box in the storage compartment for her to explore. I keep that in the leftmost compartment with all the other bigger toys.
It's fun watching Lil' J play in the playpen.
I can watch her THE ENTIRE DAY.
I believe a lot of thinking takes place in there. Like...
How she attempts to move from one spot to the other.
She looked really adorable when she was learning to cruise.
How to tries to pick up toys that have dropped onto the mattress, while standing up.
How she transfers the toys.
And my favourite?
How she transfers toys from one compartment to the other so that she can retrieve her rattle.
Have I mentioned how adorable it is and I can watch her the entire day?
I have?
I really can.
Because watching my baby learn is the one of the best things in the world.
(Other 'best things' would include hearing her voice, getting kisses from her, cosying up with baby and the husband.. You get the idea.)
