Hola!
Much as I said I will try to rely less on the pacifier, I gave in. Again.
Baby successfully latched on to one of my boobs and boy, what a triumphant moment! Then, it went downhill from there.
She kicked up a fuss because she was hungry and couldn't latch on to my other boob. I don't blame her. Put a plate of yummies in front of me and tell me I can't eat those, I'd be angry too. She's got her momma's genes.
So last night, I mastered the art of carrying Baby with one arm, and making her formula milk with the other. With precise measurement of hot and cold water. (Chemistry practicals are my favourite.)
Hallo breastfeeding moms...!! I gave in to formula milk!
I tried nursing her to sleep after that. Boobs are better than pacifier, many of them said. The suckling did knock Baby out like a little drunkard but the moment I shifted myself to put her back into her cot, she wakes again, with her eyes open really wide, staring at me(?)
That lasted for close to an hour. And when I checked the clock, we'd both been awake from midnight till three just for one session of feeding.
I could either continue to latch her and allow her to nurse to sleep, or I could take the easy way out and offer the pacifier.
I chose the latter.
Yes, breastfeeding moms!! I gave in to the pacifier too! Again!
I feel like I had to.
I was already getting dizzy from the lack of sleep. I could continue latching Baby on and risk her falling off my arms (and thus, the bed) if I were to fall asleep.
Or I could place her somewhere safe and allow her to use the pacifier instead.
I chose safety and sanity.
