{Dear Baby} Of dogs and cats and birds

Hey little one,

We don't do monthly celebrations for you but it was a special one yesterday. You got up close with a few neighbourhood animals and I hope they made your day.

On the way to popo's, we spotted some mynahs. We got really close to one with a claw bending upwards. Momma told you that the "Bird's leg pain pain" (very bad description here) and you looked so sad. You held on to your foot and went :( But things got better when its friend brought it food.

In the afternoon, we went to great-grandma's house and we saw your aunt's dog. You wanted to stroke it so we allowed you to. It's soft, furry, and it moves right? Unlike the one at popo's house because that's just a decoration. You loved it. You turn around just to hide your smile, but we saw. And you squeal after each stroke. Made your great-grandmother's day. Really. She may be too old to remember who we are, but your presence just brightens her up.

Then on our way back, we saw some neighbourhood cats. We usually see only one or two each time but this time round, it looked like all of them came out to play. We walked really close to one (which didn't seem quite thrilled to see us) and you wanted to pat it too. That we couldn't allow, but you were satisfied just being close to it.

I love how you love these animals. And how you really show it. Momma hopes you'll grow up to be an animal-loving person, and I hope you grow up to be an empathetic child too.

Love you!
