{Dear Baby} Ten

It seems that time goes by even more quickly as the baby grows older. I remember drafting the nine-month-old post not too long ago.

Oh oh! (That's your language for "Hallo") my chubby-cheeks little bub!
We are hearing you 'talk' more often for the past month.

Uh oh!
when your pacifier or toys drops onto the floor

Ohhhh/ Ow
when you hit us or try to pull out the hairs on Daddy's legs

Hey!
when you see the buses

Oh. (complete with a guilty look on your face)
when you pee. Okay, this didn't last long.

Oh oh oh oh oh ("a very urgent sounding one)
when you are about to poo. Yes, five times exactly.
This didn't last quite long too.

Mam mam
when we ask if  you are hungry.

Ah bah bah bah bah
Not quite sure what this means actually...

You have also learnt to

  • lift the flaps in the books. Love it when you smile as you discover the hidden animals
  • 'read' that Christmas soft book. You just sit in your playpen, hold on to the book and babble as you touched the pictures. Then you flip to the other pages and continue doing the same.
  • kneel down and pray. This surprised your grandparents and I believe they are very amused.
  • clap. Almost getting there!
  • blow at the food when it's too hot. There was once you blew after you swallowed the food, and popo almost choked on hers, laughing.
  • dance to "On the bridge of Avignon". You bow when we go "gentlemen go like this..." It's so funny to watch.

Your favourite activities:
  • Watch the buses go by and you'll wave to them. This time, with a very loud "Hey!!"
  • Wave to Singa outside the candy store in Plaza Singapura and smile at Cath Kidston's display.
  • Walking to the library and pulling out books to read.. umm.. play.. um...

We discovered that other than black, you like florals too.

Some major milestones...

You took your first steps!
You didn't practise as much this time round. In fact, you appeared apprehensive.
Then one night while we were having dinner and not quite paying attention to you, we saw you trying to walk around in the playpen without holding on. Boy, you did many 'laps'.

You managed to 'tell' us when you wanted the potty. Though it lasted only two days.
We thought that's not too bad.

And as for your teeth, you've got five!

This month, Mommy learnt to "disconnect to connect". We try to keep away from phones during the night and spend more time cuddling with you on the couch. You entertain us with your funny antics and so, we end up watching tv only once a week. Not complaining though. We love it. And because of that, we have been going to bed and sleeping earlier lately. Win-win.

Love you my cuddly puff.

Smooches and cuddles,
Mommy
