I love it when both my dad and sister are on leave. That means an opportunity for family day! The last one we had was eons ago.
It was one such day yesterday.
Even my little brother was available.
We felt adventurous enough to take Lil' J all the way to the newly opened Bedok Mall in the East (not exactly that far away but with a baby, any car ride that takes longer than 20 minutes is a challenge to me). Actually, we just wanted to dine at Tim Ho Wan since Daddy and Mummy hasn't tried it before.

What was supposed to be lunch ended up to be an afternoon dim sum session when we arrived only at 3. There was a already a queue but it moved rather quickly. We were seated within half an hour.
The Bedok Mall outlet is cosy (read: tight) but they managed to give us a seat where there is sufficient space for our stroller after realising that Lil' J is too little for the baby seat. Thank you!!!
I didn't get to explore the mall much but it looks like a good place for future outings (on weekdays only, for now. It must be mad crowded on weekends!)
This was a treat for me.
Ever since Baby came along, I haven't felt this relaxed on a trip to the shopping mall.
It helps that Lil' J loves her aunt and granny a lot so I have two extra pairs of hands to help with baby.
As for the stroller, Daddy and Brother took charge.
Lil' J was very cooperative throughout the 3 hours we were out so I'd say, this impromptu outing was a success!
:)
Being a momma means that the places we go to should be baby-friendly.
Preferably stroller-friendly.
And better if decent nursing and diaper changing rooms are available.
So, this is for the peabrain's (read: ME) reference.
Parking
I thought the parking was pretty good. It could be the lot we were in, but it was really spacious and we had no problems with the stroller at all.
Nursing Room
We managed to check out the nursing room (Baby Room in this case) because Lil' J did her poo-poo while at the mall.
I'm glad I actually googled for information on the nursing room before I went out. Else I might have ended up in the Family Room instead.
The Baby Room is located at B1 near Best Denki.
It would be nice to have a Baby Room in all levels. We had to walk quite a distance since we were at the other end of the mall. Thank goodness Lil' J wasn't fussing.
The Baby Room is rather spacious; it should fit two strollers nicely.
They have got two changing stations and a concealed trash bin in between (I took a while to find it. Inexperienced momma.)
Two breastfeeding rooms with curtains and bi-fold door for privacy. I like that.
There are two cushioned benches on either side of the door. We met a fellow momma who had to be there to feed her young daughter porridge because she wasn't able to find any public seating area in the mall.
And finally, a mirror and a tap.
