Dear Baby,
You gave Mommy such a scare yesterday.
You were unusually quiet in the afternoon.
No squirms. No kicks. No jabs.
No movement at all.
I thought I was too sleepy to notice your movements so I attempted to take a nap.
You will usually move when I'm lying on my sides. You didn't.
I drank a glass of cold milk. I didn't sense any movement either.
When I sang and talked to you, there was no response.
That was when I started to panic a little.
I texted Daddy and I know he was worried but trying to stay calm too.
So with my hands on my belly, this is what I said to you.
"Baby, are you okay? Mommy needs to know if you are okay."
You gave a squirm, ever so slightly.
"Baby, you are okay, right? Let Mommy know, please." I was practically begging.
You gave the gentlest jab ever.
Then you were quiet again.
I texted Aunty YJ about it and she said you could be sleeping, but she told me to continue monitoring your movements, and so I did.
Thankfully you became more active after dinner so I could set my heart at ease.
Thank you, sweetie. For responding when Mommy was at a loss.
Even if it was the gentlest squirm and jab you've given in the past two months.
At least I knew you are okay.
We should see you in about a month.
Till then, be a sweetie like you've always been, and continue to grow healthy and strong while you are in Mommy.
We love you.
Tonnes.
Smooches and Cuddles,
Mommy
